Dancing Fools!

Saturday night we attended an event for the Platte City Chamber of Commerce.  Matt was part of the entertainment and was also defending his title for first place dance group.  Can you find him in the photo below?  He, along with four others from work, "shook their tail feathers" to Let's Get Physical, I'm Sexy and I Know It, and Macho Man (Matt had a solo part in this one).  They were a hit and it took home the gold!  I'm sure no one would be surprised to know that he loves doing this event!!

Maternity Photos

Here are some of the maternity photos that I never got around to posting.  They were taken at about 35 weeks along and when you compare them to the ones we took when I was pregnant with Madelyn I was a lot smaller everywhere this time around. I like having these to document the pregnancy experience and for once during the 40 weeks to feel a little bit beautiful!   Also, the photographer printed them on nice linen paper so that is why they don't scan very well.

Girls' Rooms

Here's a look at what we've been up to the last few months - switching bedrooms!!

Madelyn's New Room

Madelyn chose the bedding  and we found a vibrant Tiffany's blue color for the walls.  We already had all the furniture so we just needed a few cute accessories and we were done!

Cecilia's New Room

This room looks almost exactly like it did when Madelyn was a baby.  We did purchase a new rocker and new crib as our crib was recalled.

We've enjoyed spending lots of time in both rooms reading, playing, and cuddling!

Newborn Happenings

Newborn Happenings:

Although we've been at home only 2 weeks, we've been busy and Cecilia has slept through most of it!  She eats and sleeps like a champ and rarely cries.  Right now she is shaping up to be a very "chill" baby.  She spends a few hours awake each day and just stares at us as we talk to her and sing to her.  We've gotten several smiles and even a few giggles as she is falling asleep.

Weight: 6 pounds 15 ounces

Length: 19.5 inches

(at the hospital she was only 18 inches long and at our doctor's appointment the nurse measured her at 19.5 inches long which I thought was a lot of growth for a few days.  I mentioned this to our doctor and she remeasured her only to get 20 inches long!  Hmmm...Madelyn hasn't grown 2 inches in the last 2 years, there is no way my kids grow at a rate of 2 inches in 2 weeks!  So Dr. Kaufman chalks it up to a bad measurement in the hospital!)

Ahhh..  to be so tiny and so comfortable, sleeping the day away!
