Finishing Up Fall!

Just to finish up fall with a few fun activites...

First there were crafts, sparkly spider webs, glittery green slime, and lots and lots of construction paper turkeys!

Then there was food, yummy jackolantern cheeseburgers, candycorn desserts, and pumpkin spice doughnuts!

And some awfully cute outfits!

Sorry the writing is reversed in the mirror, it actually says Mummy to be

And last there was jack-o-lantern carving

The finished product, a regular jack-o-lantern that Madelyn helped with, a spooky bat, and a witch.

Let the fun Christmas activities begin!

THANKFUL

This season I am particularly thankful for my family.  Life has been a bit stressful lately.  School has been rough this year for various reasons.  Our basement rennovation and bedroom switcharoo has added some stress.  And we've been busy, really busy lately.  So after a particularly hard day at work a few weeks ago Madelyn's teacher told me I needed to go look at her artwork in the hallway.  This is what I found...

In the picture, I cut off the top of the mayflower to get in all the words.

I am thankful for having a good life, my pets, and my mom and dad.

I cannot tell you how these two small pieces of kindergarten work melted my heart.  She is such a sweet girl.  Matt and I are so lucky to have her and to have each other.  We are definitely taking time to enjoy the many blessings in our lives!

Wishing each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, friends, and fellowship!

Tuckered Out!

Kindergarten sure wears a girl out!  Not sure why she chose under the kitchen table to crash but she was totally happy there, and yes, Matt slid her out from the table and put her in her own bed to sleep for the rest of the night.

Ridem' Cowgirl!

Check our our adorable cowgirl!  We had a great time with all of the Halloween festivities this year.  Between trunk-or-treat, school parade and party, and trick-or-treating on Halloween night we have lots and lots of candy at home.

By the way the brown vest from the costume was Matt's when he was a kid!

Lots more fall posts coming up soon!

"Babymoon"

A couple of weeks ago Matt and I ventured to Weston for a little getaway just for ourselves to relax and recharge.  We go to Weston a couple of times a year for dinner and shopping since it is so close to Matt's work.  But we thought before the holidays and baby arrive we wanted to have a weekend just to ourselves - uninterrupted adult conversation, sleeping in, and relax we the only things on our to-do list.  It turned out to be the most beautiful fall weather and we had a wonderful time!  Several photos to share...

We stayed at The Benner House at the top of the hill.  We have been there before and always enjoy it's charm.  Plus it has a hot tub and a pool!

Us shopping - not the greatest photo, Matt has a lightbulb reflected in his face, oh well!

We love the Irish background of this town, each shop and restaurant has a vintage Irish feel.  Case in point the above donkey inside one of the stores.  Yes, that's right, Inside the store!

They have the most beautifully preserved old downtown area that makes you feel like you are hours away from the city.

Perfect spooky tree!

Can you believe the awesome fall colors!

Add in a visit to a winery we love and you're in heaven.  No drinking for me but relaxing in the beautiful outdoor area was perfect.

Aww, this is the life!

Shadow fun

It must be mandatory for the home owners to decorate for fall because each house has lots and lots of festive decorations!

If you ever get the chance to visit this quaint little town don't pass it up!!
