Madelyn: "Mom, remember when I used to want homework, well I don't anymore, it's too much work."
By the way, the only homework she has is to practice her sight words and read every night, it's apparently too much for her though.

Birthday Bash!
Look who turned 6!! (I cannot believe she's 6) This year's birthday bash was held at The Pink Zebra in downtown Bonner Springs! They do it all for you, the entertainment, the decorations, the clean up and everything in between. All we had to do was show up the with birthday girl and the cake!! And it was awesome!
Happy Birthday Madelyn!
They do all the girls hair up in fancy smancy dos. I was super envious of their braiding skills. Then they let all the girls pick out nail color. And they have all kinds of dresses that they have made into kid sizes she they can party in style.
Cecilia chilled with Aunt Courtney for the afternoon!
And Mommy dared Courtney to get into one of the super fun wedding dresses they had for the girls to wear! I think she looks pretty darn good :)
Then there were presents!
And a wonderful craft! The girls thought the sand art necklaces were super cool and so did I since they weren't being made in my home!
Wouldn't be a party without cake! Madelyn couldn't decide on a theme so we went for a super easy and very colorful cake, it tasted fabulous
All the silly girls
Birthday Girl and her Momma
The party was a hit for the girls. I was a bit surprised because it was a very quiet party, even the girls that did the hosting of it made several remarks about how well behaved all the girls were and how easy it was. I think they were all a little bit in awe of all the pretty things. Happy Birthday Sugar, we love you!

Two Months Old
Our little Cecilia was 2 months old back on March 13th! She has grown and changed so much in just two short months. She is growing more alert and awake all the time. Some of her favorite activities are playing in her Baby Einstein activity mat, listening to people sing and talk to her, and she follows her sisters' voice everywhere she hears it. She doesn't love or hate tummy time, she just finds her hands and starts sucking on them. I haven't really pushed tummy time a lot because we can see her neck and back getting stronger as we hold her upright. She can grasp objects, especially my long hair. We didn't have a two month check up with the doctor but when I put her on our scales at home it read 9 pounds 5 ounces. She is sleeping like a champ, about 6 hours every night which makes Momma very happy! She is still sleeping next to us in her bassinet but we will probably make the switch to her crib soon.
She loves those fingers!
Ahh, baby love!
Sleepy girl!
She loves the light up star at the top of this thing!
Playing is hard work
Go Jayhawks!!

Signs of Spring
I cannot wait for SPRING!! Warmer weather, beautiful flower blossoms, outdoor activities, gardening, blowing bubbles, family walks, bike rides, shall I go on? We were blessed the last few days with some wonderful weather got to take in some of our favorite activities!!
Basketball practice - Madelyn just started playing in a basketball league with kindergarten and first graders. They have had one group practice and will start games soon. My prediction is that this girl will be begging quit way before the season is over despite Coach Daddy's attempt to turn her on to one of his favorite sports. I hope my prediction is wrong but I think she has cheerleader written all over her! Here they are practicing in our driveway.
Whoops, what is this move?
I walked around the outside of the house assessing the winter damage on my plants and was pleasantly surprised to find my day lillies on the rise.
Every year I say I'm going to plant some bulbs around our tree and never get around to it. But when I went to look at the tree I found these peaking up at me. Hmmm... I don't remember planting them or exactly what they are but I found several of them around our tree ring. Surprise!!
And our first walk as well as Cecilia's first time chilling in the stroller for a walk. Big sister was loving pushing but she tried to off road it and lost that priviledge for awhile.
Loving life!
"Mom, can I dig for worms?"
No worms were actually found but she did collect several rolly pollys! Can't wait to start digging and planting our flowers and garden!!
