Birthday Parties

About a month ago we hosted a couple of birthday parties for a very special girl!!  Our family came to help us celebrate first and spoiled this little girl rotten.  This year she wanted an Ariel cake so we went with a oceany theme and she loved it.  Here are some pictures of the fun...

A week later we invited a few friends over to help us celebrate too!  We continued with the Ariel theme and made sea shell necklaces.  Here is Gabby with Molly.

 We also did a short treasure hunt around the house to lead the girls to a golden basket of goodies for everyone. Thanks to everyone who helped make Madelyn's birthday extra special!  She had a blast.

Perhaps...

Somehow recently the word "perhaps" became Madelyn's newest favorite word. Not sure where she picked it up or why she likes it but she loves it and thinks she is so big using it even when it doesn't fit. So you might hear her say...

"Perhaps you should let me have more candy, Mom"

To which I am giggling hearing such a little girl using big phrases!

A Little Behind...

So I'm a little behind with posts. In the past month we have installed new flooring in our upstairs kitchen/dining/hallway areas, hosted two birthday celebrations for our not so little girl, celebrated Easter, expanded and planted all the early garden plants, ran the brew-to-brew race, and lots, lots more!! Pictures coming soon of all of those activities!

For now I'll leave you with a last night's bedtime discussion...

Madelyn: "If I get hungry in the middle of the night, I'll just eat my boogers.

Me: "Umm, no you won't, that is gross and we don't do that."

Madelyn: "But mom, boogers are food."

Me: "No they aren't and it's not good manners to pick your nose or eat the boogers."

Madelyn: "But boogers are real food, just weird food."

Me: "Whatever kid, I give up. Just don't pick your nose."

Clearly not my best parenting moment but sometimes you get what you get at bedtime!

Daddy Daughter Dance

About a month ago Matt and Madelyn attended a Daddy Daughter Dance! I had never heard of such a thing until a friend invited them to go and with all of Madelyn's budding dance skills it seemed like fun. Here are a few shots before they left for the big night!

Gabby's Birthday

One of our good friends Gabby celebrated her fifth birthday at Monkey Business several weeks ago. We had never been there and totally enjoyed it!

All three rosie cheeked girls ready to go eat pizza! By the way, my kid's a shrimp, the girls all have birthdays within 2 months of each other and Madelyn is always tons shorter than the other two!

All Girl!

This little one is all about the girly stuff. She latched on to one of my old purses and has kept it for her own. Then she filled it full of lip glosses, chapsticks, two kinds hand sanitizer, and any other treasures a girl needs! I have a feeling this is only the beginning.

5 Years Old!

I cannot believe our precious baby girl turns 5 today!! Where did the time go? More birthday fun to follow soon!
