Although it is hard to remember what we did in our spare time before Madelyn was born it is probably even harder for our pets to remember what their life was like. The lazy days of lounging anywhere they felt like for countless hours during the day are gone!!! I have always thought that each stage of Madelyn's life has been a huge change for us but also a drastic change for them. From the initial, "What is the tiny little thing that smells weird, cries, and has lots of soft stuff to sleep in." To the, "Oh no, it can move, grab fur, and shriek endlessly." And finally, "Why does she run after me, lay down ON TOP of me, and try to force her necklaces/bracelets around my neck, doesn't she understand I BITE?" I'm sure one day our animals will realize she loves them, but for now they just run and hide as soon as they see her thundering towards them.
I know what you mean! Harley went through at least two solid years of depression when we had kids. I love the pic of her so nicely holding the cat! :)
